Within the context of international studies, the
ISSS seeks to encourage the study of global security issues; strategies
and policies for utilizing, organizing, and controlling armed forces; civil-military
relations; and the impact of secrurity matters on states and societies in
a period of increasing globalization. In addition to traditional focus on
military or defense issues, security studies also addresses economic, social,
and other human security concerns.
